Most runways lead to Bollywood but the good news for Tinseltown rejects is that the ramp also welcomes you back with open arms.

Designer Ritu Kumar's couture show 'Panchvastra' saw two such former model-turned-actresses-turned- regular show-stoppers, Sushmita Sen and Dia Mirza, close the model line-up.

Sushmita walked down the runway tall in an embellished black and ivory anarkali paired with sixinch stilettos. Pulled up hair and minimal make-up completed the diva's style transformation into a refreshing new look.

For someone who gets it right more often than not, Dia Mirza looked stunning in a maroon and gold embellished lehenga. A big red bindi and bright red lips topped off with kohl eyes added to the regal charm.

Actress Kirron Kher, who usually graces the front row, also took to the runway for the celebrated designer.

The much-anticipated couture show sponsored by American Express took place at The Aman Hotel in the Capital on Thursday evening.
The designer portrayed the many personalities in a woman through protagonists of the epics like 'Ganga', 'Gandhari' and 'Draupadi' to name a few in this collection.

A combination of dance, fashion, textile, theatre and film exhibited the collection to an audience of fashion enthusiasts, art aficionados and Delhi's social circuit regulars.

The feminine and regal collection showcased Kumar's mastery over embroidery, including- mirror work, gota patti and zardosi on her signature anarkalis and lehengas.

The show kicked off a fashion season in the Capital. With the fashion week round the corner, Kumar presented the city with its first dose of runway glamour.
